My dog is currently recuperating from the same surgery...her second one. The first time a local vet butchered the job, so I took her to an ortho specialist and am optimistic. My poor baby is on day two. Many, many more weeks before she is able to run again. :-(
I wish you the best of luck.Zoey had Legge Perthes Disease on one back leg, requiring FHO surgery, then LP in the other back let.6 wks after her Luxating Patella surgery, she did therapy on a water treadmill (I posted a video on that)...it was that therapy that helped more than anything. The surgery results are only as good as the surgeon that performs it. I had a great Ortho Surgeon and today Zoey is 100%. Stay optimistic.
Sorry, I just saw this. I hope your dog is doing well after surgery. My Zoey not only had surgery for a Luxating Patella in one back leg, but she also had to have FHO surgery in her other back leg for Legge Perthes Disease. Today she is 100% and you would never know....I have a great Orthopedic Surgeon.
