Think about your childhood, or think about your previous job. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't that bad.
You can probably point out some bad things that happened to you, but if you think about it, it wasn't THAT bad.

Memories are constantly re-evaluated and restructured. (and this creates an illusion of an idealized past)

What you believe to be the past is not the past, but an idea of it, and that idea is polished and sorted out in an elegant way.

The older an idea gets, the more the idea is pruned and restructued according to your current understanding and level of understanding.
That's why you can have a sense of truely understanding what happened, and that's why your past doesn't look so bad.
That's why you can have a sense of control over the situation of your past experience.

You can think about your teenagedhood, or how things were at the elementary school.

We must understand that our world is in perpetual change. The present is not digested yet. We perceive the present, but our mind hasn't had the
time to sort, re-evaluate and trim the information.

We compare an idealized past to a direct non-idealized perception of the present, and so we think our world is in decline,
but that decline is just the product of the nostalgy torwards an idealized past.

We must accept that our world is constantly changing. In the future, when this present moment will be the past, you will
have an idealized memory of it. You will remember it as being elegant, simple and you will miss it.

Why not enjoy the present state right now instead of being nostalgic about it in a distant future?
Just accept the fact that your thinking mind only has a limited understanding of what happens.

The future is the unknown, but don't fear it. Accept the perpetual change. Allow yourself to influence the future according to your true will.

Nowdays, we don't see the future as a very positive thing. We fear what's going to happen with climate changes, wars, pollution, terrorism
destruction of the environment, pandemics.
