  • Where are the personalities in skating? If I had a chance to see Chris Bowman skate, I'd do it in a hot second.

  • I read that he said coke helped keep his weight down when competiting, but I don't think his overall skating reflects coked-up performance. He was being drug tested pre-competition by the skating association starting in 1989, I believe, and I read that he said he was paranoid that he'd test positive for drugs in the weeks prior to competitions. So he cleaned up and stayed off drugs in the weeks before competition.

  • This man was one of skating's all-time best, a genius at his sport.

  • Wow! What an ending! Amazing performance!

  • Such a sad story. I always rooted for this sexy, masculine, beautiful man to make it through his demons. Such a shame, but thank you for the lovely moments. You were always a dream to watch. XO always and peace in a better place, is my wish for you.

  • This man was who he was and made no apologies. He wasn't fake, phony, or forced. He had talent and to those who are sad for 'what might have been' I am grateful for what WAS. I admire him for his honesty AND his self awareness...he was a credit to figure skating and a gift to those of us who love to see a purist in action...skate with the angels, Chris and thank you for the memories. This man wasn't about money, medals, or anything other than entertaining an audience with his incredible talent!

  • Ok, Chris was an absolute natural. Brian Boitano said that if he had to name the top 3 skaters the world has ever seen, Chris would be one of them. He was also the first to receive a 6.0 at Skate America. Chris' difficult childhood and those that turned their backs on him when he went to them for help all led to his demise. He was one of the most graceful and gracious on and off the ice.

  • He hit jumps , but walked around the rest of the program with spins 1/8 mile an hr.

  • What a terrific program. Thanks for this blast from the past. It is too bad Bowman's talent could not turn into a successful coaching career due to his addictions.
