  • i'm designing my own os from opensuse . . .

    gnome doesn't the desktop right

    minimal x sucks

je os doesn't work at all

    KDE4 here i come

  • I hate when people cuss like that...

Why did you have to say the "W" word?

    :D

  • @trasmethrash

You can, btw, you can put diferent elements in each desktop too.

  • @trasmethrash you can still. you just have to set a checkmark behind "diffrent activities for every desktop" in settings.

  • in KDE 3.5 you could set a different wallpaper for every desktop, i saw that feature first on Knoppix 4....... now, since KDE 4, you can't do that!

  • @MustbeTheBassest Apart from the fact, that YaST2 isn't a software manager/store... YaST2 is an administration tool, so comparing it to a software manager is pointless. Their software manager though, may look ugly, but it's immensely powerful. Ubuntu's software store may be an eye candy, but it's utter crap. And so are GUI configuration capabilities, well they don't exist at all. YaST2 may look dated, but it's up to date and still unique across Linux distros.

  • @MustbeTheBassest I disagree, it doesn't have to be pretty to be powerful. I am a Linux Mint Debian convert, too. I think YaST is better and superior to LMDE's package management system. Overall I have just fallen in love with LMDE. I also feel LMDE's software manager is awesome. I guess the adage if it aint broke don't fix it applies here. But that's what I think, not looking to change anyones opinion.

  • it shows just general settings for kde that has been there for years..

I want to see new features of kde 4.7.2

  • @MustbeTheBassest thought the same thing. i don't much like Ubuntu overall but the app store style is the best of any of the distro's followed by Mint's software manager

  • Wow, compared to the Mint software manager and Ubuntu app store, YaST2 is looking ancient.... why aren't they updating it?
