wtf
you obviously dont know ANYTHING about gymnastics..
first of all, her performance wasnt terrible. yes she had two falls which rarely happens (very UNCHARACTERISTIC of her)
oh and didnt u hear that even if she didnt hav those two falls at the olympics....team usa still would've won. do the math. add 16 tenths to the usa team score and compare it to china's team score. god and shes not fat ...shes a gymnast...pure muscle
i couldnt believe how bitchy your comment was...so i had to respond

@SGhockeychika4 The problem in your whole line of argument, which you seem not intelligent enough to realize, is this: You first discredit the validity of Chinese documents (passports, birth certificates, etc.), then immediately do a 180 and swear by the credibility of another Chinese document (spreadsheet). So which is it? Are Chinese documents credible or not? If not, how is the spreadsheet proof of anything?

@ParanoidAndroidDA Yes, a silver medal is quite an achievement. I guess we all hope she helps the U.S. win silver again at the next Olympics.
-
@bikerOGX She covers it up because it's customary during international competition to cover up visible tattoos. The fact she represented her country at the Olympics and helped them win silver is an important part of her life and achievements as a gymnast.
-
@SGhockeychika4 Type into where? Google? Why don't you try typing "Chinese gymnasts cleared" instead. You might find slightly more recent articles with information that superseeds the article you're talking about.
-
On an unrelated matter, is that an Olympic Rings tattoo on the back of Alicia's neck that she covers up with a bandage during competitions now? Did she have it done before 2008? I'm guessing that it might be too embarrassing for her now, after falling on her ass twice in the Olympics. On the other hand, if she got it done after 2008, then she's probably not the brightest bulb in the lamp store.

@SGhockeychika4 Stop lying. No one "cracked" anything, because aside from the fact that breaking into Web sites is illegal, the spreadsheet was freely available until it was taken down. An American hacker simply retrieved it from Google cache. The problem with it though is that, right beside the 1994 birth date, it lists Hubei as the birth place for He Kexin. However, it is well known that He Kexin was born in Beijing, went to school there, and speaks perfect Mandarin. Care to explain?
-
@SGhockeychika4 Oh sorry, you didn't make yourself clear before. I'm not sure why you choose to ignore the TEAM competition though. To most gymnastics fans, the TEAM competition is usually the most important. And if you have the opinion, which is contrary to the both the FIG and IOC's position, that He Kexin shouldn't have won just because she was underage, then just say so. Why bring up the tie-breaking rule that was followed correctly to the letter?
-
@SGhockeychika4 In vault, Cheng Fei won 3 golds and defeated Sacramone in 3 consecutive World Championships prior to the Olympics. The difficulty of Cheng Fei's vaults are 6.5, 6.5. Sacramone's are 6.3, 5.8. In other words, Alicia is behind by .9 before she even starts, not to mention Cheng Fei put Alicia even further behind by scoring higher after the first vault. To take the bronze, Alicia needed Cheng Fei to fall twice on her second vault...unfortunately that's kinda hard to do.
-
@SGhockeychika4 Actually, China won two golds, UB and TEAM. Liukin should have won gold in UB only if the tie-breaker RULE that existed for over a decade was blatantly ignored. Are you for following RULES or not? Cause if you are, stop whining about how Liukin should get gold.
-
@SGhockeychika4 You're confused. The date on He Kexin's birth certificate proves she's 16. What you're talking about is the excel registration spreadsheet found on the Internet. The problem is that excel spreadsheets aren't really proof of anything. If you want, I can make a spreadsheet right now listing Nastia Liukin as a member of the men's team and upload it to my Web site. Does that prove that she has a penis?

was it after selection camp?
bearybearlove 3 years ago
It was on the final day of the selection camp. Here is the writing that went with the photo: "Mary Lou Retton, right, hugs Samantha Peszek during the final day of the U.S. selection camp as Retton's daughter McKennea Kelley hugs Alicia Sacramone. Both Peszek and Sacramone made the women's team."
