Has computer gotten really slow after the past few years? Want it to be nice and snappy like the day you took it out of the box?
Well here's how, including saving your data and reinstalling your programs.

NOTE: If you have a stupid manufacturer RECOVERY disc this WILL NOT work. Only if you have a regular XP install disc will this work.

Also, note that when installing Windows, this was all done in virtualbox, so that's why there was a picture (my wallpaper) in the bottom-right hand corner of the screen

  • i have downloaded a copy of XP, will it work with my serial key i got with my original xp.

  • @a1be2 As long as the downloaded copy is the EXACT same type as the original license. For instance, Pro, Home, Media Center... Also, the channel (OEM, VLM, or Retail) matters. If it came with the PC, it's probably a VLM. XP is the most sensitive OS for this. With Vista, all discs were the same, and with 7, only the version (Home Premium, Pro, Ultimate) matters.

  • you should have did bg music

  • @phira360 Nahh... also, you know how at the screen to create user accounts windows has a background sound? It seems that Camtasia 7 didn't record that - I thought I told it to!
