Michael Franti / "Iraq Homecoming Part I" / Spoken Word

Michael Franti perform's a solo set both acoustic and spoken word 06/19/2004 at Horning's Hideaway as part of a 3-day celebration with the String Cheese Incident. These sessions capture Michael's first performance upon arriving from his 2004 visit to Iraq, Palestine and Jordan. In fact, Michael had only been back in the USA for less than 24-hours when he appeared for this performance. The spoken word segments you see here later became his source material and narration to his critically acclaimed documentary "I Know I´m Not Alone: The Search for the Human Cost of War".
