My pick of Video Game Music of the Week for the week of January 19, 2008.

Okay, what do you think of when you think of classic NES games? I know one thing that comes to my mind is the old school Mega Man series. And while Mega Man 8 sucked and I have no idea what's happened to the series since then, the 8 bit titles were pure gold. And their music reflected that. With some of the best tunes I've ever heard on the NES, I could just listen to the Mega Man games all day. And hell, the gameplay rocked just as hard. So as a small sample of Mega Man's 8-bit glory, I bring you Air Man's Theme. One of the most catchy. And let's face it. Nothing sounds cooler on shredding electric guitar than old Mega Man songs. And that's why this is Video Game Music of the Week.

  • @DustInTheWind64

    1980's, bro.

he box art is clearly showing all the different elements of the game.

    lern2interpret.

  • Box art is just horribly inaccurate, I mean, aside from what was already pointed out, what level is this? The lava makes me think heatman the sky and platform design are like crashmans stage, and why are there 2 robot masters in one room? One with ladders? Did the people who made Captian N design this?

  • @VGKitties I think Capcom used all of their budget on the game, then just threw together a really cheap picture for the box.

  • ...Is it bad that I recognized the 2 enemies as Quick Man and Crash Man?

  • The reason why the cover of the game was changed to this was because when the game came to the US they thought that the original cover would look too kidish and that on one would buy it. To make the game more American they made this cover instead thinking it would be more appealing. I'm pretty sure people would have bought the game with the first cover though. Anyways it was a good game.

  • I agree but the gameplay and in-game graphics are just awesome

  • lol...the worst game cover art in game history! megaman looks like a butch megawoman!

  • even if you see the cover of megaman 9.....its ridicoulus but its "a remake" of this covers of megaman

  • I love how he's a middle-aged man holding a pistol. Guess the artists misunderstood a bit.

  • i think megaman is holding a UZI
