He is not e Republican, he is a bitch for Goldman Sachs. Democrates and Republicans both are under control by large Wall Street Firms and Large Oil. You need to wake up girl !

@monigrammedia In fact, I think if we had done *nothing* we would be ahead of where we are, terrorism-wise. But I like your idea a lot!

I guess my point is.. In general terms he promised to make healthcare more accessible, begin dealing with global climate change, bring troops home from Iraq, fund r&d into new forms of energy and new transportation options, improve gay rights, etc...
On each of those he has made and continues to make progress. Slower than many want, but steady and that is what matters. Slow and steady will get us where we need to be.
I'm not sure what promises you think he made...

Not sure what you are asking.. The drama isn't really Obama's fault. He seems to be the most calm person involved.
Problems of this magnitude aren't solvable over night. We can't be so scared we refuse to try anything because aren't 100% sure it will be beneficial. We need to take steps forward, adjust course as needed and not let drama and posturing stand in the way.
Healthcare is the easy part, it has been done before. The energy and environmental problems are the real challenges.

You don't know me.

@tastlykvalntines No problem genius, if it is unconstitutional, it won't stand. So why are you retards so upset?

Not bad for his first year and with the Rep. party opposed to absolutely everything!
Healthcare reform will likely be passed within the week in a form that is quite similar to what he promised in the campaign. (Yes I know they added mandates, and removed the public option but the essence of that plan is what was originally proposed). Immigration reform is up next. He's well on his way to what will be remembered as a very productive 1st term.

From politifact truth-o-meter here are some kept:
inv in alt energy, inc scientific research, job training for clean tech, credit card bill of rights, support high speed rail, share env. tech. with other countries, expand schip, removing troops from Iraq, invest in military air technology, grant cubans the right to visit home, est energy partnership for the Americas, push for expanded hate crimes law, support commercial access to space, expand americorprs, weatherize million homes/yr
Obama is a corpratist that ran on a progressive agenda to get votes. Once he got those votes he just became bush lite. I remember Bush who ran on a social freedom platform and limited goverment. Once he was in office It was more big brother than anything and Obama continues these policies. As for mandated private health care, if people could afford it they would get it, thats like solving homelessness by mandating everyone to buy a house. Or hunger by mandating everyone to buy food.

The nature of health insurance is that 90% of us would be better off without it--you just never know which 10% is going to be ruined or dead for not having it. I tend to agree with Obama that you can't control costs until everyone is in the risk pool, even while sharing the concerns about costs. But hey, I don't think we can afford the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan either.
