  • Sharkbite fittings are not rated to hold Poly pipe!!

  • @pauln213 Correction Paul, they will work on Poly, the manufacturer just will not warrantee the fitting if used on Poly pipe. This is one of only a few products on the market that will help consumers with poly pipe problems who do not or cannot afford to re-plumb the entire home

  • A big problem with the design is that the tub faucet mounts thru the surround into the thin sheet of drywall. If the collar nuts get just a little loose, water will get back there when you take a shower and destroy the drywall so there will be no way to get the faucet secure. Been thru that. Cut the damaged drywall out from behind and fill the space with a piece of exterior grade plywood mounted between the wall studs. Put in some valves too while you are back there.
