If you don't have time to put up with the "unneccessary" stuff like his story telling, maybe you should pick a more fast paced hobby like knitting or chess.

John - you epitomize the philosophy you convey about effort put into any aspect of life. Yet, I also appreciate a seeming permaculture precept regarding as few inputs (human, animal, mineral, etc.) as possible - yet still obtaining a significant yield.

Hey, John - you don't like in Northern California anymore?? :(
Oh well..as long as you're happy.
Well, I'm used to the 'babbling' as is said here, but I DO feel sometimes that you are SHOUTING, rather than talking in a normal voice, and sometimes I just can't do that. I DO like your videos though..and YOU! :)

@Judimus2 I think you do not comprehend English very well. I was POLITE about my comment. I'm not a CRAZY fan, I just enjoy learning from someone who has the know how.I did said that he teaches all range of people therefore "NOT FOR EVERYONE". U R correct u have the right 2 ur opinion.Only people that have problems will get over something. I don't have 2 because I do not see things as ISSUES or problems but opportunities to learn and to teach. Happy Trails on ur quest 4 learning/Entertainment.

@lestempsnoir Seriosuly....get over it! You people who are crazy John fans need to understand that we are all different kinds of people and not everyone will love your sainted John. I have a right to my opinion! I'm glad you LIKE his videos...I don't. Get over it. Sheesh.

@Judimus2 Its nice that you took interest in Johns videos but if you are looking for free info on the net you should take it as it comes. John's audience likes and understands his way of sharing information. I've been a subscriber for a very long time. He teaches to all range of people. From beginners to savvy. "Repetition is mother of skill" Anyone knows this. I have heard johns voice in the back of my head when doing gardening

Must be very different growning in Las Vegas, vs, New England.
But, it is the top of the season here, and I am getting the best tomatoes and peppers in years. Weather has been perfect for gardening this year.

@Judimus2 13,000 subscribers to your 1 m8, why do you think you can give advise on this, what do you want him to say, you plant seeds they grow, that's about as much gardening advice as you need, all this is is entertainment so you lighten up. All the advice you need is on the seed packet, put the things in dirt, give them some water, I think he covered that. Watching this episode alone and leaving stupid comments is like not liking lost cos you watched the last one and didn't get it.
i think im kinda on the topic of the do nothing garden, john what r ur views on Masanobu Fukuoka style of farming from his book, one straw revolution? seems to go with what ur doing with the no tilling and letting the plants fully mature. just wondering haven't ever heard u speak of him even tho u seem to do some of the things he did.

I agree with many of the principles of Fukuoka, and that industrial agriculture is more into "do everything with chemicals".. I like to have a "balance" between the "ideals" of "do nothing" and "industrial agriculture"... being much closer on the side of "do nothing" and let nature work.. Each person's individual garden will be different. This videos purpose was to show that you can still grow successfully even if the garden is un-attended. Of course there are many variables.

I do edit each video.. which takes significant amounts of time.. at no charge to my viewers. This is my HOBBY. I alone decide what to include and what not to include. While it is true that I do often times repeat myself, there is a reason besides that I like to blab. I repeat myself because some things are important to remember, and for most, people they need to hear things more than once to learn it. Hopefully people are watching my show to learn more than JUST about gardening.
