T. D. Mischke played this song when he was a talk show host on AM1500 KSTP in the St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN area. Now he is on 830 WCCO. I've yet to hear him play since moving stations. But, I only listen on Friday nights.

Everyone assumes the FD weren't on psychedelics, but I think nice, squeaky clean fun can arise from doing acid. Let's say your whole family does it. And likes to harmonize. How fun?!

Sandy was my kindergarten teacher. She knew my parents back then, and I still have the original record.

Bugged my mom to get me this song, she ended up having to buy the whole album for me! One of the greatest songs which captures the joy and carefree feeling of childhood, simple, direct, and true. Kites are fun!

I was in high school when this was popular on the adult easy listening station. It never made it to the top 40s hit stations. And because it was on the adult station we all thought it was silly.
Turns out The Free Design were just a couple years older than we were, and now I look back at this song with a charming memory of my adolescence.
Thanks for the memory of a kinder and happier time in the world!
