BUY INVICTA'S NEW ALBUM: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/invicta1

Thanks so much for 50,000 views, guys! I've been blown away by your support and interested questions. Thanks for making it fun to get better at singing/screaming together.

For you out there who are interested in learning how to scream or trying to fix a wrong scream, I don't want to give the wrong impression through what I say on the video. When I say "if you do it right the only thing that should hurt are your abs," that means that while you're screaming you shouldn't feel your voice deteriorating.

That DOESN'T mean you won't be sore afterwards or during; the bottom vocal cords are very seldomly used by most people and they can get pretty sore before they start strengthening enough to do the stuff I'm doing in my music. Think of it like callouses; your fingers hurt like hell the first several times you play the guitar but after a while you benefit.

Schii was recently featured in a 28 minute video lesson on Singing Success Online. This is footage that didn't make it into the lesson video available on www.singingsuccessonline.com; you won't see this anywhere else!

Make sure you watch the whole video; there's a bonus sneak peek at the first recording of Invicta's new song "Driven Into the Ground," recorded live at Brett Manning Studios, in Nashville, TN.

If you like what you hear, check out more at http://www.myspace.com/invictamusic or follow us on Twitter, at http://www.twitter.com/invictamusic .

Look for "throat singing" on Youtube for some good guides on how to properly utilize your bottom vocal cords and how to strengthen them.

  • I'm curious as well; where does your range top off at? I'm a deep voiced dude as well and I really dig your tone.

  • @Jamespm666 Chest voice, about a G on a good day. Counting mix/head, I have about a 4.5 octave usable range.

  • what is that song called?

  • @gebukdrum It's called Driven Into the Ground. This is still the only recording of it thus far!

  • When you first started, i'm assuming your voice would be raspy afterwards, or perhaps a bit sore. However, at the end of your video, your ability to easily transit from singing to screaming is no less than astounding, you are a great vocalist. My question is, when you first started did you have to get your vocal cords used to screaming before you could sing clearly at the same time? Or was it natural for you to switch back and forth with no problem singing after your first attempts at screaming?

  • @Slim2J @Slim2J It's not difficult to switch from distortion and back because the distortion isn't produced in the same location in the throat as your singing pitch. Check out the other tutorial videos for a more in-depth explanation, and thanks for the kind words.

  • @TheOreoDisaster I'll make sure I reference 40s, weed, and cop killing in my next song so you feel more at home.

  • Should it be kind of like a sigh? I tried it and it almost felt like I had to cough (if that makes sense)

I don't see too many girls "screaming" so idk if i'm doing it right or not

  • nice shirt

  • damn dude awesome! thats what i call a scream! 3:18 - 3:36 i was like wtf!?, WOW! epic, i gotta learn how to do that now :D

  • thumbs up if a black guy sent you here. this vid actually gave me further insight. totally rad!

  • He looks very stuck up and like hes concentrating on his normal talking voice to make it sound deeper lol but on a good note verry very good at what he does i must say good job :)

  • Love your voice man, great explanation on it too. Definitely subbed. I checked out your band recordings and they are really good, great sound! Hope to hear more soon!!

  • His screams sound like Randy Blythe's of Lamb of God, in my opinion. :)

  • i've been getting pain in my lower left back from screams, feels like the muscle. is that from too much emphasis on diaphragm or something else i'm probably doing wrong?

  • @InvictaMusic Well crap what the hell is wrong with my voice aha; if anything your speaking voice sounds deeper than mine. Kudos though, that's freaking awesome. If you don't mind me asking how long did you work for that range?
