In this sitcom, a bunch of nerds achieve the ultimate geekitude: X10 control from the Internet. I've been there. I know just how cool it is. Because I can.

The music they cue on the stereo (and because it's a bit of Classical music, it's called a piece, not a song, because there is no voice part) is the beginning of 'Also sprach Zarathustra' by the German composer Richard Strauss, based on the philosophical treatise of the same name by Friedrich Nietzsche. it's also what director Stanley Kubrick used in the movie '2001 A Space Odyssey', which I'm sure all of the guys have seen many, many times.

It's the beginning of a piece called 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' by Richard Strauss. You're right about the hollywood connection. It was used in a big movie back in 1968 called '2001: A Space Odyssey', a sci fi flick directed by Stanley Kubrick.
