Practical use review of the Cold Steel Norse Hawk. Just putting my latest aquisition through its paces and enjoying a fine winters day outdoors. This hawk reminds me of a small war axe, not something you would see on a trapper or frontiersmans belt. It does balance nicely in the hand and chops very well. It performs just as well as the other non hammered Cold Steel hawks at most tasks. The down sides for me are 1) the size and weight are on the bulky side considering it lacks the benefit of a hammer, and 2)the relatively thin blade profile near the eye making for even more work to split wood, ( somthing I completely forgot to show) and something the hawk already struggles with. All in all if you like the looks and can live with the design or you just want to add to a collection this is a good solid tool.

  • Nice video, these are retailing in the UK for a very reasonable price and your review has sold me. That's the biggest lump of pine pitch I've ever seen - did you find it like that or have you amalgamated many smaller pieces? Also - it's nice to see Bundeswehr Flecktarn has reach the US :)

  • @Kurhan777

Thank you for your comments ! this area has many trees with huge pitch clumps. it makes gathering them nice. Hope your hawk serves you well.

  • have you ever considered reviewing the Pathfinder school signature tomahawk by 2 hawks?

  • @betterdesignservices

Yes I have considered it, but the price seems kind of high for my tastes.

  • Now its time for Cold Steel PIPE HAWK? :)

  • @shmitas1 It has never been my intention to review all of cold steels tomahawks, I just kinda got hooked on them and bought what was available to me locally. I really dont NEED another tomahawk( I bought out all but one spike hawk from my source)

HOWEVER I think a pipehawk review has been requested more than any other model and it is the last of the smaller hawks in the lineup so, maybe I can fit it in, just wish Lynn Thompson would send me some for free LOL!!

  • which tomahawk would you prefer the cold steel norse hawk or the frontier?

  • I hate living in Virginia every piece the forest is either privatley owned or a National forest, and it's hard to find a quiet area in the woods because of all the rednecks mudding and shooting there guns into all directions. IT SUCKS!

  • I love your videos, man. Keep it up! :D

  • Great review... You sold me on it... Bought and paid :D

  • I really enjoy your vids. You demonstrate the tools in use and you don't pretend to be the last word on the subject. Keep up the good work.
