How to FIX PSP Type-B

This is a tut on how to correct your psp so that your computer recognizes it as PSP Type-B.I know the quality isn't that great and the tutorial isn't all that great overall,that's why I've decided to write it out here and post all the links.

1)search "how to fix your missing key 0x041" in google and click the first link:

2)Scroll down until you see Chilly Willy's post and look at his signature to download KeyCleaner and ID Storage Manager.

IDStorage Manager:

3)Download them both and extract them,remember where you extract them to.

4)Open KeyCleaner and copy the folder thats in there and put in into your PSP/Game150 folder.Do the same with IDStorage Manager.

5)Start up KeyCleaner FIRST and dump your keys.Store them in a safe place before moving on.Analyse the keys and make sure you choose the correct PSP model.It should fix most of your keys except for key 0x041.

6)Go back to the first thread and start up IDStorage manager and follow tbdawg's steps to correct the key.Remember:DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DO NOT BLAME ME FOR YOUR FAILURES.

7)Once your done with key 0x0041, press start to save it and exit IDStorage Manager.Run KeyCleaner again to check if you did this right and if you did, it should say that all the keys are fixed and key 0x005 is patched.If it asks to unpatch the key,cancel as it might brick your psp.

idk why but when i plug it in it says theres no driver to run the software... -sigh- it says Type B but theres no driver. i dont wanna download anything i have to pay for. any ideas??

PSP Type-B is the driver that's supposed to be installed. If it already says PSP Type-B then you shouldn't have to install anything more I dont think.

The forum says this is for fat PSP only 0.o....do you know where can I find one for slim PSP?....

I didn't try the manager yet...because I scare the it might broke.....

I did the Key cleaner thing...and it says all my keys are fine....but when I plug my PSP in...it still says The Type B stuff....

Hey, can anyone help me? The right side of my screen is cracked so when I go to use IdStorage Manager, I can't see what key I'm on. I have a IC1003 motherboard. Can someone with the same motherboard tell me how many times you go over? Or is it (possibly) the key that at the bottem says "key 4"?

Dude when its checking the key 0x0041 it says:Failed! Readkey returned code 0xFFFFFFFF,do you know what to do?Because I double checked the 0x0041 key

I have followed all the steps. My keycleaner says all my keys are fine but it doesn't say 0x005 is patched. My pc still recognizes it as psp Type A and I can't use RemoteJoy. =(

my fat (one out of my three) wont work anymore. ive tried to reinstall with the 3.71 m33 to fix it.

It starts up after the installation fine in the first moment.

"PSP" (the usual thing) lights up -then it freezes amd turns off after 10 seconds

Ive had accidently dumped some stuff from my other psp consoles to my ms since i wanted to make that shitty "go explore" work. now two of them r shit 4 nothing. -> i used idstorage manager + keycleaner

Can you help me on that mess? thanks in forward

BTW i did that all on the psp and not whit any .bin data stuff on the pc
