The Steam engine used for my trip to minehead was 3850, Painted in BR black. for some reason they dont use any name plates, though this is the same type of train i seen at the paignton and dartmouth railway.

at the end of this video.. i added a bit of amatur - out of window shot.. though its pritty good.. the sound is amazing!

  • the Paignton and Dartmouth dont have the same loco as 3850, this is a 28xx. they use 42xx and 52xx, which is basically a tenderless version of the 28xx

  • @jfuller4200 at paignton railway they have a 78xx atm it looks just like this.. painted in BR black. check my video out though cant link it here.

  • @jfuller4200 3850 isn't a 28xx, it's a 2884. and there is no such thing as a 52xx it's actually called a 5205. ;)

  • Most preserved steam engines only have names if they had them before preservation - the Paignton & Dartmouth is run more like a business, which is why they have non-authentic paintwork and names.
