Hot swap a battery on a modified CPS3 cart: Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

I've had my Third Strike Cart for a few years now and one of the first thing I did to it was to send it out and have the cart modified so I can easily replace the battery with ease. The thing is, I've never replaced the battery before and I'm afraid of killing my CPS3 security cart.

So here's in my attempt to swap out the battery with the arcade machine on. For the record, this is NOT a 'How To" video as I have no idea what I am doing in this video.

I had no idea CPS3 was so complicated when I bought mine. Recently the game started shutting off after about 15 minutes of being powered on, could the problem be this battery?
