Dressage with Andrew: August 2010

I haven't done a lot with Caesar recently as the poor pony came in from the field at the end of July with a sore shoulder and hip for no real reason we could find. His lovely physio came out and fixed him, however I had to withdraw from Little Mattingley.

I took him to do some BD in the first week of August where he won his first class, came 3rd in the next test and 2nd in the last; it was all easy stuff for him so that it didn't bother his back. It also means we're off to Petplan at Wellington in September (which I have just remembered that I still haven't sent my entry off for yet!)

This video is a lesson with Andrew. We've been with him for about 18 months and are thoroughly impressed by him. This day, poor Andrew had Caesar and I after we hadn't schooled for a week (so I was a bit lazy for once) but the pony was still a bit sore so I'd just hacked him all week and Andrew gave a nice chilled lesson.

Hopefully next time, we can start working towards simple changes; fingers crossed I can figure out how to ride more effectively and not be so faffy, which my new instructor Tracey seems to be super at fixing. I think having both Andrew and Tracey will really help Caesar and I develop properly and amazingly.
