Instructional Installation movie for ID2Q
Hello, thank you for purchasing Markzwares ID2Q. You have become one of thousands of people using this popular Markzware QuarkXPress XTension which will convert your InDesign projects into QuarkXPress v6, 7 or 8 with one click! As a note, ID2Q will open all versions of InDesign,CS1, CS2, CS3 and CS4.
In this video we will show you how to install your ID2Q on a Macintosh or Windows computer. Please note that you need QuarkXPress installed on the computers, as ID2Q is a XTension to QuarkXPress. Lastly, we will cover Frequently Asked Questions commonly know as FAQs.
OK lets get started
What you receive when the product is purchased (downloaded/CD + AC)
When you receive the product digitally by email or download, you will see the application is still compressed as a ZIP file. To unpack the file, just double click on the document, after which you will find the XTensions for both QuarkXPress v6 and v7 or v8 in a separate folder.
If you received a CD, you will find the unpacked versions in the Install Software/ID2Q folder.
Which version of the XTension to choose (CS2 CS3 [ CS4])
If you are working with QuarkXPress v6, the ID2Q XTension you want to install is the one named ID2Q6v3.xnt. For QuarkXPress v7 the XTension is named ID2Q7v3.xnt and for v8 ID2Q8.xnt
I will now install ID2Q for Quark 7, but the folders I mention for QuarkXPress 7 are the same as in v6 or v8; only the name of the XTension itself differs.
Where to find the destination folder
To enable the XTension to work, you will have to place it in the XTension folder of QuarkXPress. This is where to find this folder. Open your HardDisk by double clicking the HD icon and open the Application folder from the window. You will now see a folder named QuarkXPress followed by the version number; open it by double clicking. Now find the XTensions folder. To go short, you can find the folder at:
[Macintosh HD]/Applications/QuarkXPress/XTensions.
The only thing left is to copy the right ID2Q XTension into this folder and you are ready to Activate. Note that when you are installing an upgrade for ID2Q, you delete the older version from this XTension folder or from the XTensions Disabled folder. Leaving it there will cause the XTension to fail.
Entering the Activation Code
When you startup QuarkXPress after installing the XTension, you will be prompted with the Activation Code Window for ID2Q. This Activation Code can be found on the inside of the box if you received the XTension on CD or can be found in the email you received from either our online reseller Avangate or from your local reseller.
When you purchased an upgrade, you will first have to enter the Activation Code from the upgrade, after which you will be asked to enter the Activation Code from your original full version. It is therefore wise to have the older codes at hand when you start upgrading.
How to convert the desired InDesign file
You now successfully installed and activated the ID2Q XTension. Converting InDesign files is now only a few clicks away! Just go to the Utilities menu and choose Convert InDesign Document. In the file selection window that pops up you are able to select the InDesign document that needs to be converted. Afer the menu that enables you to make additional settings to the conversion (the default setting will most likely be OK), a timeline shows the progress of the conversion after which the document will open as a new QuarkXPress document, ready to be edited and saved as a QuarkXPress file.
Registering your product
We at Markzware always advise you to register your product via HYPERLINK "http://register.markzware.com" http://register.markzware.com. This will not only link the application you purchased to you, but will also ensure that your Activation Code can be found at all times. History shows this comes in very handy when you purchase an upgrade in the future and you cant find your old Activation Code, but also ensures that you are able to re-instal your application after a crash or worse
This should get you up and running without any problems, but please watch the movie with frequent asked questions if you experience any problems installing ID2Q.
If you have any comments or suggestions, always feel free to contact us. Our contact information can be found on our webpage at HYPERLINK "http://www.markzware.com" www.markzware.com.
I thank you for watching. I am confident Markzwares ID2Q XTension will make your life easier, saving you lots and lots of time and money.

Markzware makes some awesome tools but I have to say anyone converting an InDesign document to Quark is simply crazy.
