Are you using a watercolor brush?
Philosofy3 9 months ago
@Philosofy3 To me there's not really such a thing as a "watercolor brush" or a brush specifically for a medium whatsoever. It's that certain brushes are better for specific things and effects. To answer your question, I am using a WN Galeria brush mostly

So you can mix gouache and watercolors on the same painting?

absolutely

@mainloop
Excellent painting, but do suppose you could explain to me the advantages (in your judgment) of guoache as a medium (as opposed to acrylic or watercolor)?
I understand this is a very broad question, but I guess what I'm asking is: what things does guoache enable you to do better or easier than you can do with other mediums?
I'm think of buying a set.

@CrateofStolenDirt Sure, gouache is basically the same thing as watercolor except it has a chalk mixed into the binder to make it opaque. It thins out better than acrylic and you are able to rework it as opposed to the permanence of acrylic. Most importantly, it stays wet longer than acrylic, making it easier to paint outdoors...
