Using the triggered samples and the pattern sequencer I recreate my tune "Lost in the frosting". I've not been using my 404 for long but I'm really loving it.

I recorded this on my MICRO BR (which is visible on my messy desk)

Samples came from a some longer samples created using my MicroKorg (plus some live drum samples and some drums from my gameboy :))

The effect I use is the filter drive (which you can see is active for all the samples for the whole tune).

Thanks, I hope you like.

  • At the minute i'm running cubase 6 on a mac with a roland synth as a midi keyboard, but I really like the look of this, but I also really like the look of the maschine. I like the flow of this better by the looks of things though plus it's cheaper, could you tell me how I would go about using my own tunes from cubase on this thing? really interested in getting a live set on instead of djing! thanks

  • @serpz123 If your tracks are sample based then it should be no problem to load the device with the samples you already have but it may take some work to recreate your tunes.

I think it might be better for you to see what you can create from scratch on the device, you may come up with something totally different.

  • well done man

  • @BigBaggaBlues You might be right, but I just spent a few days hard hittin' on my SP, and it is a beast. Best part, batteries, and total mobility (not everyone cares about that though). I really like the flow on the maschine, but I can't get myself to spring for it yet! I use Logic to get all of my samples created, then sump them to the SP - then I can build patterns and have fun away from the laptop.

  • @serpz123 i have a maschine and im getting one of these soon

but theres no way that the flow of an SP will be better. maschine pretty much has the best flow of any hardware there is

  • Sounds good

  • ayea! Good Song

  • i have a question.

do you just hook the device up to your computer and go with it, or what?

  • this was very good. loved it.

  • Nice :-)
