House built entirelly from cardboard
Inherent strength of the triangle applied to easily found materials and generates a low-cost solution to basic shelter/housing. A diamond shape is cut from a cardboard box at a fold and used as a basic repeating "molecule" to build terahedra and half octahedra which are "woven" together and attached with duct tape and glue (or perhaps sewn together if someone has some time on their hands) forming eventually a wall and roof framing structure which can then be clad in sheetrock and siding and roofing tar, the residual carboard left over from the boxes can be ground up and used for insulation in the cavities. more drawings at friendsofvollendorf.com

  • I think this could be an approach to emergency housing—especially if the 'module' could be mass produced
