Great Handel! But it's not the way how this aria should be sung. He is not furious here at all. There are much better versions on YT. The very best version is Nicholas Spanos's.

i want bartoli to sing this! she would be perfect! she would hit those runs with ease!

Actually, I take my words back. PJ is not better in any repertoire! I agree with Plavos that he sings everything with no expression and his voice is absolutely flat. He sings everything like the same piece no matter what the text and image is about, just producing sweet empty sounds without sharing any soul, like a singing machine! The purpose of singing is to MOVE THE HEART, not just give some "junk food" for the ears! Sorry.

He is much better in lyric repertoir. A nightingale. But not as Tamerlano!

I agree with steffino2. Yet, bravo for that!

Isn't he just too cute for playing Tamerlano? He seems more like an evil child then like a dangerous tyrant..... But of course he's a great singer. I prefer him in "prince charming"-roles, it suits him better, I think.
Sooooooooooooorry but he is too small for this (i don't mean the age but the deep of his voice). No expression and so flat. Look video spanos - tamerlano and see the difference.....

i agree, plus he's way too weak in the lower register to add the much needed bite to this scene
