When do we see one running on steam?
-
Can run on wood, coal, cardboard and even Government documents. LOL.. but don't tell that again, governments are really struggling nowadays to keep things going!, I am so eager to install a steam generated power system for my house.

@dlaw70 sorry didnt see the psi listed here till now ...cheers!

@dlaw70 hmmm, i question that firgure- so lets do the math: torque = hp x 5252(constant)/rpm's
20 x 5252 = 105040, divide that by 700 rpms = 150 lbs-ft torque. Im not sure where you get 600 ft lbs?..if its geared to like 3:1 - 4:1 maybe like 400 ft-lbs...????????????????? my 10 hp gets about 100 ft lbs...@ 500 rpms. 150 psi and 1:1 ratio. are you using high pressure boilers?
-
I love the line "even government documents."
As long as power generation is in the question, you might as well stick some electric bills in the old boiler too!

@tubefed420 700 rpm --Mike

@dlaw70 600 ft pounds out of a 20 horse!!!?? thats amazing. What kind of rpms is the power made at?
@dlaw70 How much psi does the 3hp require to be at max rpm and torque. I checked your website but you have no info on the 1hp and 3hp with regards to the psi requirements.

@zarchiel11 They're designed to run between 80 and 150 psi (medium pressure engines).

Forgive me if this is a dumb question. 240 lbs of steam per hour at 200 psi. Is that the same as saying that in order to run the 20 HP steam engine at 200 psi for 1 hour it would require 240 lbs of water? 1 lb of steam = 1 lb of water converted to steam?

@Valoric2345 Yes, you are correct. It wasn't a dumb question, what I get most of the time are people who have had zero experience with steam and think they have all the answers.
