  • My doctor is treating my panic disorder / agoraphobic. I am still not able to be drive or be drivin without having a sever panic attack. I applied for ssdi and the worker had requested i go for a mental examination. I told him the agoraphobia is the hole reason why i can't work. He & I tried looking for a doctor that does house visits but could not find one. So can anyone give me advice?

  • @Bladerunner55217 I read about your situation. I help many people with your description of panic disorder. In fact, I have someone who could not appear at his hearing just last week. Although I am not your attorney, here is some general advice about how to proceed with Social Security disability claims when anxiety makes getting to doctor appointments difficult.

  • @Bladerunner55217

Social Security focuses primarily on medical records for verifying how serious anxiety issues are. Consistent mental health treatment is critical to Social Security disability claims. I have had clients with extreme anxiety do one of two things to get the proper treatment. One, they have had a family member or friend (even church members) bring them to crucial appointments so professionals could document and treat the anxiety.

  • @Bladerunner55217 Two, they arrange for at-home visits when possible by a therapist who works through a psychiatrist or psychologist office. I have seen this available in Minnesota. A client of mine had this kind of care discussed at a hearing earlier this week. For anyone who has anxiety and has trouble leaving home to get treatment, it is important to ask around for at-home treatment if this is the only option.” Feel free to contact us if you need a Disability attorney in MN, OH or WI.

  • Thank you. That was helpful.

  • Wish you were in Oregon.

  • Thanks allot . I am going to search for at-home visits when possible by a therapist who works through a psychiatrist or psychologist office.

I tried this before but for only a short time. Will try again. Unfortunately The dead line of the examination is over and I will get denied but this just show's the truth that I can not make it to any appointment let alone a job. Thanks again !
