Daisies We Cried

Concebido como ejercicio de continuidad del módulo de 8 semanas de la New York Film Academy, al final se me fue por completo de las manos y pretendí hacer un minifilm mudo sobre los doppelgänger. La falta de película (se permitía un máximo de tres rollos de dos minutos cada uno) fue suplida con efectos y mucha simpatía. Por favor, no perdáis de vista el anillo, que para mí es lo más interesante de esta pequeña película cuyo título intenté que fuera lo más grandilocuente posible. Creo que lo conseguí.

Respecto a los actores, el prometido y patán Joe Canoli está interpretado por Marco de Luca, un compañero de clase que siempre estaba ahí para parchear la falta de actores de verdad. Y Audrey 2 sí es actriz de verdad; es Catalina Rosell, mallorquina siempre a favor de obra y capaz de plegarse a las exigencias más absurdas o incómodas en un tiempo récord.

Originally meant to be the continuity exercise from the 8 week filmmaking program at New York Film Academy, it ended up showing anything but continuity. I wanted to do an eerie silent minifilm about the doppelgänger.The lack of film roll (we were allowed to use a maximum of three rolls of two minutes each) was covered with a shower of effectism and sympathy. Please, don't miss the ring they use to get engaged. For me, it is almost the most interesting thing of a movie whose title is as pompous as I could think of. I think is quite pompous.

And, about the actors... the blatant good-for-nothing Joe Canoli is played by Marco de Luca, our Italian classmate who always was there to cover the lack of real actors. It was not his vocation, yet he ended up being our muse. Kind of. Audrey 2 is really an actress; we discovered her at the Open Casting and she was awesome. Everybody wanted her for their films; she hit the school like a hurricane. Also, she is always helping on the set when not acting, and she covered the hardest roles in the school. She rocks!
