This is Jeff Beck's 2nd Hall of Fame induction. Just waiting for his 3rd induction as "The Jeff Beck Group" with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood.

I hate when people say Jimmy Page wrote this, played it and produced it! It was a collaboration inspired by "A Jimmy Page rhythm riff borrowed from Ravel and Jeff Beck's fantastic Lead playing is all over this. Jeff also came up with the idea to change the tempo based on the "For Your Love" format. Fact! 3/4's Jeff and 1/4 Jimmy. If Jimmy wrote it then why did he never perform it ? Because it was Beck's baby! Plus in this performance it was Tal who suggested the tempo change should be "Immagrant Song" as a tribute to Jimmy Page.
A great version of Bolero with Jimmy Page from Jeff's second induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame 4/4/2009 as a solo artist. His first induction was with The Yardbirds. Is the Jeff Beck Gorup next?

  • So Rush are bad musicians because they sound like the album, lol, people want to hear the songs they play on their albums, not some incoherent jamming crap. Just listen to Cream go into a 25 minute jam on spoonful, and you'll appreciate the short version.

  • @MerkinMuffly I have to agree with you. When i go to a concert i want the band to sound like their albums. Jeff always sounds like his albums. Same with Rush.

  • Beck and Page should do a world tour together with each one taking turns with playing the lead. How awesome would that be?

  • @LedWhisky69 Now that's a great idea. I would pay big bucks to see that in NYC. :)

  • Vinnie Culiatti on drums?

  • @caveman735 Vinnie is a great session drummer. Just Google him and you will agree.

  • @JeffBeckAndFriends Bullshit; Live Led Zeppelin was a whole different game than studio Led Zeppelin.

  • @JeffBeckAndFriends As for Jimmy's guitar tone, it was very good. It always changed, especially with the change from the Tele to the LP on live performances, but it sounded all the way through. I also admit that What is and what should never be at RAH in 70 was a great performance and did sound like the LP, but the stand out tracks from that show were the ones that were nothing like the LP, such as How many more times and Dazed and Confused. Two unforgettable performances.

  • @JeffBeckAndFriends That is exactly what I would want, improvising and jamming... you go to a concert to get a live experience of the band. I love the way the CD's sound, but when you listen to LZ live, it was another ball game, something people still to this day cherish and something that not many other bands were able to do. Also, Bonham was a perfectionist when it came to tuning his drums, his drums ALWAYS sounded fantastic, whether they were wood, steel or vistalite.

  • Jimmy still got it.

  • @JeffBeckAndFriends Dude, who wants a band to fucking sound the same every bloody time they play? If that was the point in live shows, why do one anyways? Zeppelin live is different than Zep in the studio. "Tight but Loose", as Jimmy Page says.

  • Jeff and Jimmy are so good....professionals.

  • @JeffBeckAndFriends Zeppelin did great live. Sure, Page used a lot of overdubs in the studio. But when he plays his Paul thru the Marshall and the band is at 100 decibels, all the parts are magically there.

  • @jkovert Beck tries too hard. Page doesn't have to expend any energy to prove himself.

  • "Immigrant Song" has way more energy than Beck's stupid little song.

  • @shellshock428 "undoubtedly dyed" !?! Didn't know you knew Beck that well. Of course I'm not talking about hair color. Even when Page dyed his face looks far old than Jeff Beck. Also his energy and posture is not that of your average 68 year old. I'm a huge Page fan, but you got to admit, he looks his age. Given his drug abuse, that's understandible.
