KIDNAPPED: Joe's Story. Chapter 12

OVERVIEW: this is told from the POV of Joe Jonas and is completly made up

Just then, we saw a car pull into the driveway. We panicked. Kevin and Frankie got back in the closet and I sat down in the chair. Demi quickly tied me up, just as Hailey walked in.

"Where is it?" Demi said, nastily to me, acting like she had been interrogating me. I pretended to be scared.

"I really dont know! Please dont hit me again!" I begged. Hailey smiled as she put her shopping bags down. Demi picked up the tape and put it on my mouth and eyes, then put my chair in the corner. I tried hard not to laugh.

"So, back from shopping, I see?" Demi said to Hailey.

"Yeah, and to tell you the truth, I expected to come home to find you treating them like your own kids, but Im impressed you really got the knack for trying to get them to talk!" Hailey said satisfaction in her voice.

"Yeah." Demi said. "I got Joe really scared!"

"Good, and Frankie and Kevin?"

"Still in the closet."

At this point I heard Frankie crying, but I knew it was fake.

I stayed bound to the chair until that night, when Hailey went to bed and I felt Demi grab my chair and pull me to the center of the room.

"Still alive?" she whispered. I nodded and she told me to shut my eyes. I did and she quickly ripped the tape off. I was glad she didnt un-gag me 1st, because I wouldve screamed.

Demi noticed the pain in my eyes. She rubbed my cheek.

"Its ok." She whispered. "Now I cant un-gag you or let you sleep, because you never know when Hailey will come out."

I mmphed uncomfortably.

"If you lay your head down and shut your eyes, can I trust you not to fall asleep?" she asked. I shrugged, and Demi pushed my head on her shoulder.

"On second thought," Demi told me. "Sleep a few minutes. You need it."

I immediately shut my eyes and drifted to sleep. For the rest of that night, she let me sleep for 10 minutes at a time, but I was still gagged. I didnt really care

When morning came, I woke and I noticed that Demi had gotten up and walked into the kitchen. I mmphed to her and she came over.

"Good morning, Sleepy Head." She said softly. She hugged me. I mmphed happily. She bent down and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I moaned with pleasure. She rubbed my stiff shoulders. As I was relaxing, I suddenly remembered something.

I mmphed wildly. Demi took the tape from my mouth. I breathed heavily.

"You ok?" Demi asked. In a frightened voice, I answered.

"I remember where the profits are." I told her. "aileys going to drag it out of me!"

"Youre darn right I will!" Hailey said. She walked out of the bedroom.

Oh, s**t! I thought. Hailey walked up to me. Demi stepped boldly in front of her.

"Outta of the way, Demi!" Hailey said. "Im about to be rich!"

"No! I wont let you hurt him!" Demi shouted. She untied me, then, dragging me by the wrist, ran to the closet and opened it. Kevin and Frankie immediately woke with panic. They leaped out of the closet and Demi let go of me. Kevin and I pushed Frankie behind us to protect him.

"Hailey, look whats happened! I wont let you hurt them! Nick could be dying!" Demi told her sister. "These boys are miserable. Youve put them through a great amount of pain for no reason. So if you dare want to hurt them again" Demi pulled out the gun and aimed it at Hailey. "I wouldnt hesitate."

Hailey gasped. "Where did you find my gun?"

"Bathroom." Demi said. Hailey smiled. She backed up to the kitchen draw and pulled out something

"I KNEW she mustve had a dagger"! I said. Hailey held the dagger at us. That and a second gun.
