@luminaeus It's more than doing powerslides and I guess you know that but choose to go on the smallest denominator here... As if being able to balance the car like that so that virtually anyone could do it would be a small feature that all the cars have :p
Audis are glorified VW, nothing more than that. They suffer since a long time from poor ride quality (even the A8!) and the handling is inferior.

If going around a corner with the tail out and wheels spinning is important to you, then yeah, BMW is your best bet.
Audi's innovations? Well, their early FWD innovations was used by Volkswagen to create the Golf, which ended up being the third best selling car in the world. But yeah, they seem to be sticking to the tried and true as of late.

@luminaeus I don't think the Audi buyers care too much about driving experience, disregarding what drivetrain they're buying... The AWD from Audi is surefooted and safe but not entertaining. Audi is not even close to BMW from this point of view.
They might have better plastics and more shiny bits but they can;t hold a candle to BMW's driving experience. I also have a hard time trying to rememebr their last relevant innovation in auto industry...

I don't think the kind of people who buy FWD Audis really care about driving experience. The kind of people who care about driving experience are going to opt for the sporty AWD version anyways.
Still, there's a lot to be admired about BMW's purist approach in which every car drives well, not just the sporty models.

@luminaeus even A5 is FWD for the cheapest model. Not sure about A6. And what a dreadful driving experience an FWD audi is...

A BMW guy wouldn't buy an Audi and vice-versa. Both cars stand out with their own aesthetic ability and performance. So stop fighting people!

I'm just angry that German schools teach their children the difference between efficiency and dynamics,..........in the SECOND GRADE!!! No wonder they make better cars then us :)
