  • If Moon had met Mozart!, the party would have lasted 6 months!!

  • I know it's gonna sound weird, because they're two diferent types of people, but Bob Dylan and Keith Moon are my favorite artists of all time......sorry for my english....i'm mexican...........

  • He may have been ADHD - but he was also severely bipolar - reading about his life tells of periods of depression and inactivity - followed by periods of extreme energy and mania - this is bipolar - this is the greatest drummer and rock legend of all time...so complex and unfortunately hellbent on a path of self destruction with no way to "fix" him without taking his magic away....thanks for all the entertainment and kickass music you left for us Keith - you are still missed 33 years later......

  • Today he would be diagnoised with ADHD.

  • @ViniciusFiocco

    this is english

  • Has to be said ,..as much as I love the Man.....He must've been an absolute nightmare to live with due to the evils of drink, drugs and fame.

I can identify with Keith in a lot of ways. I've learned a lot from him.

    Thanks Keith. RIP

Thanks for the upload,...I haven't seen this before. much appreciated.

    Long live the Moon!

  • @sue2208 - Yes Sue, I think you are correct. He was definitely a unique person. If not for rock music, I can't imagine what he would have done with his life. The Fletcher biography suggests Keith would have made for a fine actor -- especially a comedian of a Monty Python-type. He was great friends with Viv Stanshall of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and they shared a sense of humor. The book also talks about the animosity you mentioned, and it crushed Keith because he just wanted to be liked.

  • @jaybone23 You are so right, i knew keith in the early '60s, he was with The Who, on stage he was Moon the Loon, off stage he was very sweet & cuddly. He needed someone to understand him. He played a part because that's what he thought people wanted. I know he has become some kind of icon, thank God I knew Keith for the warm, loving man he was almost scared to show the world. There was a lot of animosity in the band, Keith wanted to be upfront, he was a showoff but he was also a lovely guy.

  • I just read Tony Fletcher's massive bio on Keith Moon. He was really a rather sad character ultimately. He couldn't step outside of himself and see what kind of damage he was doing to his life.

  • @HankLafayette

I remember my wife upon turning 33 turning to me and saying, "Okay, I've outlived Jesus and Moon the Loon, what do I do now?"

There has to be a happy medium, though: Modern education teaches that every child is accomplished and destined for great things when this just isn't that case. I think that it's just as cruel to set a child up for a major let down when the real world comes to kick the not so special kids heads in as it is for an educator to lay a kid out emotionally because they don't excell in a subject. Self expressive interpretive dance isn't going to prepare you for a world that's playing rugby.
