It's 6/8 .. he hits his chords every 2 of a 6th .. ( am i making sense .. ? ) which gives the song it's nice groove. I really like this

from what i hear, it's just a simple 4/4. but he's playing triplets, so it takes a little while for the ear to pick up on the familiar rhythm.

At philwalker. I think that ur not entirely wrong. I think this song is about all of the things people do when they've been hurt, so much they've become numb. The way we sometimes count on the next relationship to heal the hurt of the previous one, by allowing you to repeat ur mistakes but on ur own terms this time. That includes sleeping around, pretending to care, allowing urself to be hurt, just so you can feel.
