Apple iPod touch 2g battery life playing games, part 1

Apple calls it the best mobile game device. Can it handle constant gaming?

This 2nd generation iPod touch (it's NOT called iTouch) lasted 4 hours 20 minutes at minimum power usage. This time-lapse shows a minute of gameplay every second.

I've set the iPod touch to the best case scenario for battery life:

No Wi-Fi.
No sound.
Minimum brightness.

But still, one important iPodTouch battery life vid remains: CONVENTIONAL GAMING

-Wi-fi off

(no need for wifi with games, agreed)

-Sound at a normal, medium level

(because games are better with sound and max sound is too loud)

-Screen brightness at 50%

(at min you can't see shit, at 100% it's bright and clear, but you don't need it to be this bright plus it drains battery: 50% makes more sense)

Unfortunately, I no longer have this iPod touch. I sold it to help buy the iPhone 3GS. If I run into a pile of money someday, I'll buy up all of the older generations and do a mega compilation video comparing them all with a few combinations of settings.

I got a 2G 16gb ipod touch for $155 (used). I run a test for the battery life, 2:15 playing games,using internal speaker and using minimun power.

Is that battery really bad?

Unless they really messed up the battery somehow (I don't see how), the thing should be lasting quite a while longer than that. Most important factor is brightness, so even with everything else cranking, you should be getting more than that. I would suggest taking it to an Apple store for a battery test.

@njayflowers You cannot use the ipod touch right out of the box. You need to connect it to itunes and sync all of your things you have on itunes. And it charges while you do that.

well i dont know about you but i think the more HQ the games are the faster the battrey dies

i mostly play games for like 3-2 hours till my ipod dies

but when i play games like Asphalt 5 wich have a very high graphic and the games movement are very fast in this game

and with games like that my Ipod dies in like 1 hour or 50 minutes

insted of 3-2 hours of gaming
