An unprecedented look into the underworld of Vancouver's downtown eastside ghetto, this 65 minute documentary follows one man's 30 day experiment of joining the thousands of homeless, ill, and addicted, who survive the streets of Vancouver's cold, wet December. He starts off with nothing but a pair of underwear. Where he ends up is a place he never knew existed, even though its a place he passed by every day. This is the perfect film for anyone who wants to see first hand what life is like on Vancouver's streets, but doesn't want to risk murder from gang violence, contracting a fatal or chronic disease, or a life-long addiction to crack or heroin.
Nominated for Best Feature Doc, Best Direction in a Feature Doc, and Best Sound Design at the 2011 Leo Awards.

@toolittlesoul I ended watching this first part thinking the same thing. But after watching all 7, I have to admit that this is one of the more entertaining and eye opening Canadian documentaries I have seen in a long time.

I'm watching... and I hope it gets better. All you're doing is making a mockery of the DTES and you come off looking like a spoilt tard.

"How as a society did we get into this situation in the first place?" Spineless LIBERAL governance.

I honestly LOVE the way Canadians pronounc "about"... it's utterly charming. Plus I really doubt if he was in the USA he would get the amount of initial help he gets.

I'm originally from Cleveland, lived most of my life in Phoenix, with bits and Chicago and LA before moving to Vancouver a few years back. I lived in the DTES my first year, and have lived slightly East of it in the remainder. Most dangerous in North America? Laughable. The crime rate is high because it is a ghetto of drug users, i.e. most residents are technically a criminal. Next time you ask a homeless person for clothes, try to leave being the American Apparel undies and the camera crew.

I lived in the DTES for nearly 9 years and I'd break a bottle over your head to if I seen you wandering around my neibourhood acting like that, I used to tell the Movie company dickheads to get the fu*k outta here all the time to. Fu*cking tourist, one month living down there cant tell you sh*t.
