is that a Deluxe Active P Bass® Special?
If the answer is yes, why is it less expensive than a standard P-bass or Jazz Bass??

No, it is not the Deluxe (active) model. It is the American Standard Hot-Rodded P-Bass. "Hot-Rodded" because it has the additional J-Bass pup. It is passive (and very kind).

George, I wanted to thank you for this particular lesson. I got a bass guitar last night, as a Christmas gift. I looked at it... and my heart just dropped. Things continued to feel this way as I got online and tried to find a good workable explanation of a bass guitar and its workings. You did this so well and I am very grateful to you. This is particularly meaningful, to me, because I am a girl - the guitar still feels awkward in my hands. Knowing a bit more about what I am holding, helps. TY!

Hello Robbie. I thank you too.

I have responded to your PM in relation to your query about sequential beginner bass lessons.

Yes, you can play bass through a regular guitar or keyboard amp. However, you must make sure that you don't play too hard and loud.

Careful ...

If you have a right-handed bass, as a left-hander you have to experiment and find what suits you best: right-handed technique? re-string? upside-down? etc.

All of my You Tube bass lessons are easy enough to find, either through to "Related Videos" menu (usually on the right >>>>) or through my channel.

I have only 4 You Tube videos that are truly sequential.
