The first test flight of a pilotless target Berkut, developed by design office INDELA. It is equipped by the electronic simulator of the target working out with possibility of targeting from winged missiles with technology of stealth to aircrafts with ERS more than 30 m2.
Design office INDELA developed air-target "Berkut" that is intended for imitation of air attack means such as UAV cruise missiles and subsonic planes of tactical aircraft at carrying out of combat training of calculations, flying and firing tests of all modifications of antiaircraft rocket complexes.
Structure of a complex include: the aircraft - the robotized air target "Berkut" equipped with special radio-electronic equipment reflected signal radar-tracking simulator and also ground control facilities and service.
High flight characteristics of "Berkut", automation of combat application, low price and reusable character of its application make its rather perspective for testing and combat training of AAC (air and ground).
Own reflective characteristics of "Berkut" are very low. Effective reflecting surface (ERS) is less than 0.01 m² (dashed on a level 0.5), the given level is much better that cruise missiles designed by Stealth technology. These properties exclude an opportunity of combat training for radar systems and ACC systems in case onboard imitation system is switched off.
This method is much better than other methods of target imitation (Luneberg lens and others).
The typical air targets for combat radio-locators and radar-tracking aviation self-guided warheads and antiaircraft rocket complexes are:
-"Air-Surface" cruise missiles (CM) with an airframe created by Stealth technology, with ERS 0,1 to 1,0 m2 and small sized prospecting UAV;
-Cruise missiles without application of "Stealth technology, CM with active radar-tracking warheads, combat UAV, practice-training planes, etc. unmanned aircrafts with ERS 1,0 to 3,0 m2;
-Fighting aircraft (FA), multipurpose fighting aircrafts, front bombing aircrafts and battle-planes with ERS 5,0 to 10,0 m2
-The heavies (heavy bombers) with ERS 15,0 to 20,0 m2;
-Military-transport planes, planes of distant radar-tracking detection and prompting, fuel-supply planes, etc. with ERS more than 30 m2.
