  • can anybody guess which raag is it???????

  • @anwechand Yaman

  • "Lagti tala beli" means to be unhappy and restless. There is a Namdev composition in gurubani called "mujhe lagti hai tala beli"

    "Heli" means anxiety

"kinu dilama ye heli"; What is this anxiety/pain in my heart?

  • 2020abcd thank you for your translation. I had no idea how to translate those lines.

Is it possible for you to translate other Meera's songs?

  • It was a happy accident :) I came across Sant Namdev's song with the same line and meaning yesterday and remembered this bhajan. I can surely try translating Meera bhajans. Let me know if you want my email. Also, I have bhajans from "Meera Sur Kabeera" by Lata with translations. Would you like to make them into videos?

  • @2020abcd Sorry for not replying sooner. I have never heard of this album "Meera sur Kabeera". I would be glad to make them into video clips.

  • Soma, for some years I have been listening to music from India. I particularly like the female singers such as this. I will go through your playlist. This is exciting.

  • "humse kari kyon paheli" doesnt mean y did u love me first....it means "y r u playing this riddle with me?"

  • "Lag rahi taala beli" (is it bedi?) loosely translated as "shacled in locks and ankle chains"

"daras bina khadi doheli" is i am standing at your door step ( duheli or dehleez i think) without your revelation to my eyes!

raajasthani maarwadi was the lingua franca during meera ji's time in Rajasthan

English does not do justice to the words bcos the temporal differences and the socital structure and culture of complete surrender which is unknown outside hinduism ( specially bhakti marg)
