Having a computer on your desk once seemed like science fiction, but now they're just about everywhere. Could the ability to CREATE anything, with a machine smaller than a television, be far away? John Bentley has the story.

  • @vidform yeah they can lay layer by layer of heated liquid wood to form objects

  • Makerbot is not the only game in town. Look at thefutureis3d . com They have 12"x12" heated build platforms. Makerbot is 100mm x 100mm build area.

RepRaps have been around for a long time. makerbot is the only one getting press.

  • @MrThisIsMeToo Huh? Please explain. Thanks.

  • @vidform Obvious you are a moron with such a comment.

  • @jeffc6676 Holy crap you're right. My optimistic side sees an Arab spring in China's future, but my pessimistic side says they'll go back to their old barbarity before that happens.

  • THIS IS THE ... FUTURE!!!!

I hope Steve Jobs is watching this. If Apple decides to buy this technology, I'll bet they could make an awesome, simple and elegant Makerbot that everyone would want to use. I think they should find a more environmentally friendly way to produce things than simply using plastics. Can the Makerbot make things out of glass, or wood, or aluminum? I'm sure that will be next. Makerbot is awesome with soooooo much potential. This should be shown on the Martha Stewart show.

  • cheap homemade plastic trinkets?!! Take THAT China!!!!

  • if it's affordable for under a thousand, that's pretty cool. But need a bigger foot print of about 10"x10"

  • did you copy someone else ? ? you know who I'm talking about.

  • Im going to use the maker bot to make my own maker bot and sell them cheaper.....

    LOL...

    Nah
