This song was written by Laddie Chapman and Greg Williams for the US Bicentennial in 1976, and recorded as a demo with some friends. Charlynn Mabey sang the main vocals and Charlynn, Greg, Laddie, and Eddie King added their voices to the choir, overdubbing 6 times. All instruments except the Oboe and English Horn were played by Laddie, and recorded in Rudy Garza's garage studio in North Hollywood, California, on a Tascam 8 track. It was intended to be only a demo (hence the cheesy drums), but we were never able to get any major artist to record it. We plan to dust it off and revive it in time for the Tri-Centennial in 2076.
