6mm air gun made from the body of a metal flashlight and operates at 150-600psi. At 300psi, it is capable of 700fps with 0.2g BBs, 600fps with 0.3g BBs and 500fps with 0.35g metal BBs.

How-to Guide:
http://www.instructables.com/id/700fp...

This air gun is incredibly easy to build and requires little skill and a bit of 'spudgun' knowledge. The design is a coaxial pneumatic piston valve.

I could do but I don't think it would be much use as some of the parts I used were just random fittings and I can't even replicate it since I only had one of those fittings and I haven't see them in stores. Basically, it consists of a small nozzle from a Craftsman 1/4" blow gun where one end of the nozzle threads on to the schrader valve and the other to a 1/4" brass fitting. Inside the brass fitting is just a really thin and long bolt that depresses the valve pin.

the problem being the 1/4" brass fitting is not one I've seen sold in stores, it's quite a strange fitting. I'd suggest finding some fittings in the hardware store that thread on to a schrader valve and then try and think of a way you can make a button that will depress the schrader valve stem. Then you just need to use a spring so the button returns to a default position after you depress it.

Can't really help you specifically, can really only give you a bit of advice. First of all make sure the barrel was cut straight because if it is even slightly cut on an angle the sealing face may not be able to seal against it. Second, make sure the barrel is perfectly centred inside the chamber. If it isn't centred, you may run in to the same problem as above. Third, make sure you're using adequate sealing pressure (at least 100PSI). Are you 100% sure that it leaks out the barrel?

How does the air get past the piston when filling?

the piston doesn't have an air-tight fit around the chamber. As long as you don't use o-rings, air will find a way between the piston and chamber walls

then it wouldnt be portable...and it would fire when you disconnect the hose, which makes for an anoying and inaccurate trigger ;)

Now u need to drill a hole in the body and fit a quick coupling to a compressor, so u dont need to fill it every time.

Is around barrel-tank chamber for compressed air ? Or only in the back of a piston-betwen the piston and shrader valve?

(MrC45 is my old account) - I mentioned somewhere that the CO2 method is not recommended for those who don't know what they are doing. I never filled it to 800PSI with CO2, I started out by letting a small amount in and seeing what the performance was like. When I started getting 700fps, I knew that I had about 300PSI of CO2 in the chamber. So I started getting an idea for how long to open the CO2 valve for to get 300PSI.

Wait, how would I know if my Maglite is pumped at 300 psi? There is no gauge.

Knowing that filling it with a CO2 bike pump thing is quite risky, what is another way?

$400 Industrial Air Compressor 200 max psi(Yes, they are real)?
