It's easy to be in contention for a national title if you're in the Big Ten. It's just the fact that you won't WIN that national title. Population shifts are really hurting traditional powerhouses from the Midwest.
As for coaching, the difference between Vanderlinden and Strong is marginal at best. Both are extremely good at developing talent at the LB position.
Jelani made the best choice for him. I don't see how that can be considered the "wrong choice."
