  • I really like this prodution. My church is doing "Godspell right now, and I am Peggy in it, but I was wondering, are there two versions of the play?

Incredible acting and the voices are unbeatable.

  • hey there! wow, that's quite a compliment! i actually directed this production last year as a senior in high school, and i updated a lot of the script, hense the majority of the differences. sadly, there aren't two versions, just the original script BUT, you're more than welcome to do what i did, and add revisions/improvisations to make it funnier/more exciting. in fact, stephen schwartz who composed the show encourages this, as long as the parables aren't messed with.

so glad you liked it :)

  • thanks :) don't feel shy to comment on the other ones you liked as well :p

  • Most of the main numbers! I thought it was pretty original for the most part :)

  • yeah, i see what you mean. i guess it just boils down to the fact that the cast just really didn't want to. but i appreciate that you liked the production :) have you seen any of the other vids from it?

  • When I did it, it was my second musical production. I think it was the easiest one for me though (besides the singing... I've gotten so much better haha) because although I was playing myself "technically", the characters are really just "playing" and "learning" until the second act, when acting comes out. I don't see how it'd be awkward using their name, but like I said, it doesn't take away from the production, it's just something that bugs me. Great job though!

  • hey there. i directed this production my senior year, and the main reason we didn't use the cast's real names is because they honestly didn't want to. they felt too humble. usually it's like that with all of the professional productions and we were far from that. also, by giving them character names, it allowed for them to develop a character and give them a journey, rather than just being themselves and feeling awkward about it. each character was basically themself though, just to an extreme

  • Good production. It just bugs me you used the original names, when the actors are supposed to use their own names for their characters.

  • Now this song is exceptional.

  • Incredible. One of the best I've seen! Your voices are outstanding.
