btw peeing, pooping, drooling on yourself, unable to choose when you awake in the morning,shower,eat, brush your hair, whether or not a video of you is played on youtube, ....where is the quality of life?....i agree with u lauren, i would NOT want to live that way either! You may have od'd but no one deserves this! I hope you have peace in your life, I have taken care of people like you & thier lives are filled with little joy, unrealistic families, and alot of pain. If I were ever to get into that condition, please don't parade my picture out to the media for political purposes. That's just downright despicable.

The whole Terri Schiavo episode was a sad pock on American history. The ridiculous 'emergency' meeting of Congress was wallowing in the nastiest of politics. Let's not revisit that.

Thank you so much for reposting this video. People need to see that Lauren is responsive and NOT brain dead or a "vegetable"! Lauren is improving and will continue to get better if allowed to live. I pray that Lauren will be given mercy!

i would like to comment because im now faced with a similar situation. adn i was not a drug user or addict. unusual circumstances led for me to be rendred into a state similar to this but more fucntional.i can not do things that are needed to survive . i was a very active athletic gifted music aritst in nyc art scene. i had a few people in my ife who had intentions of doing evil to me. some of them bragged about it. most of them had drug issues and wanted someone to abuse.

This is such a hard decision for a loved one to make. I believe Lauren's parents should meet with trained professionals to come up with agreed upon solution that everyone can live with. Whatever that decision is they shouldn't second guess themselves or feel guilty. The family may want to think about letting Lauren save others by sharing her story with impressionable teens contemplating drug use. God Bless.

Lauren HAS a future and her life should NOT be ended. The former heroin addict is still young, and can be wheeled into school assemblies to show students FIRST HAND the dangers of drug use. She could perform a valuable community service for decades hence.

saveyourself21 - YOU take care of people???? Where exactly, because those people should be warned. YOU are not the judge of whether life is worth living. I would NOT want to live the way you do either, with your death worshipping ideas that death is better than being handicapped. FOOD and WATER are NOT medical care. Btw, your first sentence describes PRISON life so maybe we should save the money and starve and dehydrate the prisoners first.
