So there was a candlelight vigil at Poe's gravesite for his bicentennial starting at midnight on October 8th, 2009, lasting till 7am. Okay, so I didn't make it that long...not for Red Nose-like reasons, but because I had to get back to the hotel and get back to work. But the kickass folks who were running the show were taking volunteers to read something and...well, I mean, seriously in a situation like that, what self-respecting Poe enthusiast can turn that chance down? So I went with one I could A) find on my phone and 2) read relatively quickly. My offer to do "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym" went down like a lead balloon.
