'Good luck with Demi!' Miley said to Joe. 'Why would I need luck?' Miley laughed 'You keep telling yourself you don't need it.' She patted Joe's back then entered the house. Joe sighed knowing Miley was right. Joe entered the house. 'Demi!' he yelled. It took about 30 seconds before he got a response. 'Yes?' Demi appeared at the top of the stairs. 'We need to talk.' Joe said a bit softer. 'Okay.' Demi said walking down the stairs. 'You look upset.' Demi said worried. 'I'm okay, I think I just NEED to talk to you.' Joe said 'Let's go into the diner room.' Joe suggested. 'Fine with me;'


'I think you might wanna sit.' Joe said pulling out a chair. Demi sat down on the chair a bit confused. 'Is something wrong?' Demi asked worried. 'Maybe...' Joe scratches his head. 'Where do I start?' Joe muttered underneath his breath. 'I lied to you today.' Joe started 'What do you mean?' Demi asked now being even more confused than before. 'I set up the meeting with my dad today to talk about his retirement. I suggested something.' 'Joe, what did you suggest?' Joe pulled out of a chair & sat in front of Demi. 'I told my dad I'd take over the company if he let me support you...money wise.' Demi stood up angry 'I told you I don't need your money!' she yelled out at Joe. 'I know. But you need—' Before Joe finished his sentence. Demi stormed out of the room. 'Demi!' he ran after her. 'NO!' Demi turned back at him. Then she walked into the garden. 'Bailee, get out of the pool!' she ordered. 'Bailee, stay in the pool.' Joe said calmly. He grabbed Demi by her arm & dragged her inside. 'You're hurting me!' Demi screamed. Joe carefully pushed her onto the couch. 'No you're hurting me, Demi!' he yelled, Demi got taking back by his reaction. 'I'm trying to help you! I'm putting myself on the line for you but you don't really appreciate it I KNOW you've been doing things on your own for a while now. But I'm here now & I want to help you please let me!' Demi nodded 'Okay.' Joe sat down beside her. 'I don't know if my dad accepted my suggestion, but we'll find out tonight he wanted you there when he announced their decision I didn't want to tell just yet but yeah.' A silence spread over the room 'I do have a question...' Demi suddenly said. Joe looked at her giving her permission to ask her question. 'Why does your father have a say in what you do with the money you earn?' Joe groaned 'It all goes back to old me...the money I get is like an allowance from my dad that won't change once I take over the company. It'll change after I get my dad's full trust back, which will be a very long time.' Joe explained 'How do you know it won't change after you take over the company?' Demi continued to ask. 'Cause I know my dad.' Demi nodded.
