I am not saying that the IRA is "saints" and has no innocent blood on their hands, they do, but the Brits and Loyalists were the worst killers.
UK backed Loyalist militaries is responsible for 1,018 killings. of those were 712 INTENDED sectarian killings of civilians.
The british forces is responsible for 363 deaths, of those were 199 civilians.
Furthermore, almost each time the IRA killed innocent civilians, they sent apologies to the victims...

...Unintended targets. That leaves us to 789 others, many of those were civilians yes, but a majority of the IRA caused civilian casualties were due to car bombs.
Pretty much before each car bomb, the IRA called in about 30-60 minutes before and sent a warning to civilians could be evacuated and kept from harm. Unfortunatly, the British police didn't care enough to keep civilians from harm fast enough, so sure, there were casualties.

Well there was a report on that and the players at that time are gone. Just where his bones lie is anyone's guess. Near where I live there is a national park and the government tried to find the bones of a buried British General (Revolutionary war). No bones were found yet and his grave was marked.

your are losing alot of men in Afghanistan, that war is financially draining the resources of the British Army, this being a true fact as it has been stated from the top military commanders, your fighting a hidden army who's ideology far reaches that of the IRA, The British will not be able to sustain or maintain a strategy to win the war in Afghanistan, Guerrilla warfare can last for decades. When more men are lost the British people will call for an end to it.
