its part of memorizing. It helps to memorize with "taps" rather than numbers or letters. It's very common in blindsolving as you can see in almost every other bindsolving video on youtube.

The thing is, you can have one of those Braille Cubes and have the stickers over them, so you would be blindsolving but you could still see, but as you has no bumps on your cube I can tell it is real.

no, my eyes are closed behind the blindfold anyway. I just like the snug feeling of the backside of the blindfold on my eyelids.
