The LTL company Viking which was morphed into what is known now as FedEx
Freight when it was combined with American Freightways in the east, the symbols of AF
still remain and everything Viking was destroyed by the old AF management.
Nothing Viking remains except the once proud employees that will never let
Viking die in vane.

The symbols remain. If the company is now fedex freight why are we hauling AF flyer guaranteed shipments? This is just one of the many AF things left in place. Not a slap to AF at all but you see nothing resembling Viking anywhere. Even when you log onto our computers at Fedex Freight it says AF not fedex freight, or Viking. One would think that it would be Fedex freight, but Af remains. Interesting perhaps?

When we were Viking I never felt like I had to go to work. I wanted to go to work! I was proud to work at Viking Freight! Now there's so much FedEx Corp. BS that work sucks almost everyday. Management is not someone you can trust anymore. It seems like management is scared to question anything that comes from Corp.

I miss the Viking Freight days when I felt good about my job.

When people ask me where I work, I'm hesitant to say FedEx freight.

As drivers of Viking we were able to clean and chrome our tractors. Now as fed x, while we are grandfathered in, when they take my truck, I will not be able to chrome another truck. It makes me happy when customer or just someone walking down the street says “nice truck”. Once the chrome is gone, no more nice truck.
