  • It's pathetic that Cher won an Oscar for "Moonstruck" defeating Meryl!!!

  • This movie is really underrated, touching story and very good performances, especially by Meryl Streep.

  • Another movie tht I'm watching has Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep acting together.. Extreme awesomeness! \m/

  • How in hell, do I ask, does Cher bump off Meryl in this movie. Sheeeit, jewood don't know their asses from a hole in the ground.

  • This is one of the most underated movies ever. Meryl and Jack work their magic. I wonder why it had received so little fan fare. Hector Babenco did a superb job in directing this.

  • This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful movie theme ever composed. So sweet yet melancholy, it's a pity the soundtrack was never released on CD.

  • This is my all time favorite movie. It took too long for this to come out on DVD and Lionsgate did one of the worst transfers. 1987 was a good year with my second favorite movie "Housekeeping". Still waiting for that on DVD though it can be downloaded from Amazon.

  • The Movie was shot in Troy NY (my home town) Home of the Real Uncle Sam, the Collar City because of the Arrow Co. That's River Street in the opening sceen. Troy was once one of the most whealthy of cities in the world. Hasn't seen a good day since the early 60's. I remain a loyal son. Even though I live far away. I wish i could go back and be a boy for just 1 hour!

  • Waits is a damn fine actor

  • The film is about an alcoholic homeless man who returns home after many years, haunted by a horrible accident that cost the life of his newborn son. He is played by Nicholson. Streep is a similarly homeless alcoholic haunted by her own memories. I think it's really about the human experience and all that comes with it, and how precious and sometimes painful life can be, but as Streep and Nicholson's character prove, things become tolerable when that human experience is shared.

  • makes me thirsty

  • I lived next to the cemetery in the film. I actually have family members buried right near where the scene was filmed. Nicholson by all accounts was friendly and gracious to the locals. I get soooo--homesick when I watch this film!
