Waiting to Begin Again (Chapter 57) [7/13]

My computer hates me obviously. lol i'm having a lot of trouble. i think i'm gonna have to split the marathon a little. one so my computer can rest and maybe fix itself and two it's really late here. so i think i'm gonna do this one and then the rest prob tomorrow evening, since I'm going running with Jillian and then have acupuncture tomorrow morning/afternoon.

I didn't know how to get away with this one. It killed me to see her hurting, but how could I explain without telling her too much?
"Hayl, I don't know what you're talking about."
I saw some anger return to her face before she turned to Frankie and James. "Boys, would you be okay if Nick and I went into the hall real quick?"
"Yeah," they said together.
"Okay, please don't cause any trouble for me."
"We won't. You're the best babysitter EVER!" Frankie said.
"Aw thanks Frank. Be right back." She grabbed, tight, onto my arm and practically dragged me into the hall.
"What's going on?" I asked as she closed the door behind us.
"Don't start with that. You know damn well what's going on," she snapped.
"Hayley..."
"No, I don't wanna hear your stupid charm or whatever. I just wanna know what I did to make you ignore me."
"I'm not trying to ignore you. I'm just going through a rough time right now, which I don't really wanna get into, but I've just been keeping to myself while I'm trying to figure it out."
She stared at me. I tried to convince myself that that was a sufficient explanation so that she wouldn't see through it as easily. I couldn't tell what her conclusion was, but it wasn't very good whatever it was because she just snapped, "Whatever" and stormed back into the dressing room.
"Wait, Hayl," I called after her, but she was already gone. I leaned back against the wall. Crap, what was I gonna do now?

{Hayley's P.O.V.}
I wouldn't have watched the show that night if everyone hadn't wanted to, but so many people were there, and I guess these were like homecoming shows or whatever. And besides, Joe hadn't done anything to me, and he was really excited so, if nothing else, I'd watch for him. I had pretty much memorized the show by that point, so I had strategically planned a "bathroom break" for Nick's solo part, but when it came, I noticed it was different, and it was something about it that I had to listen.
"So before I say anything else," Nick said before he even started singing as his hands glided over the keys of the piano exactly right, like it was the easiest thing in the world, "I have a question for you guys." He took a break as the stadium filled with cheers. "I wanna know, how many of you guys have hurt someone you cared about without realizing until it was too late?" Screams erupted and hands rose as the lights panned over the audience and Nick looked around a little. "Well, I did, and I just want that person to know how truly sorry I am. I didn't mean to hurt you. I hope you can forgive me. This song goes to you.

She walks away

Like I said, there's more of the marathon but it's gonna have to wait till tomorrow. SO SORRY! I think it's gonna be like 5 more chapters, but i'm not totally sure yet lol, don't feel like doing the math.
